2009:

Next committee meeting: Thursday, April 16 at 7:30PM in the Community Center.

The annual membership meeting took place at 7:30PM on Thursday, March 19, 2009. 

We elected this Board of Directors:
Linda Ivy -- President
Keith Zevallos -- Vice President
Lenny Wertz -- Treasurer
Jon Gardner -- Secretary
Natasha Jewell -- At-large
Dave Pitts -- At-large
Kenny Voigt -- At-large

These amendments to the bylaws were passed unanimously:

Amendment 1: Amendments 2 and 3 shall become part of these bylaws if and when the Greenbelt Labor Day Festival, Inc., becomes recognized as exempt under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code of the United States.

Amendment 2, to add: Article VI, section 8. The Committee shall maintain a Conflict of Interest Policy. Upon election or appointment, and annually thereafter, each member of the Board of Directors will sign a statement affirming that he or she:
         a. Has received a copy of the Conflict of Interest Policy,
         b. Has read and understands the Policy,
         c. Has agreed to comply with the Policy, and
         d. Understands the Organization is charitable and in order to maintain its federal tax exemption it must engage primarily in activities which accomplish one or more of its tax-exempt purposes.

Amendment 3, to add: Article XI. Dissolution Clause.
Upon the dissolution of this organization, assets shall be distributed for one or more exempt purposes within the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue code, or corresponding section of any future federal tax code, or shall be distributed to the federal government, or to a state or local government, for a public purpose.

2008:

The 2008 festival was very successful! Beautiful weather and lots of fun for everyone!
